Once a referral is faxed to SpecialtyScripts, when will the office be notified of the referral status?

SpecialtyScripts provides physician offices with a status update on all new referrals sent to our Pharmacy within 24 hours.

Will the physician’s office have the responsibility of initiating prior authorization and verifying insurance for each and every patient?

SpecialtyScripts Pharmacy team will initiate the prior authorization process by downloading and completing the prior authorization form as much as possible before forwarding a copy to your office to sign and submit to the insurance company. Additionally, our team will verify insurance benefits and works with third-party payers, allowing your office team more time for patient care.

How will the physician office know whom to call within SpecialtyScripts if they have a question?

Simply call our toll-free number at 1-800-218-5688 to speak to one of our registered pharmacists. There are no recordings, no prompts, not even on-hold music. When you call, expect to speak with an experienced team member who will work diligently to answer your questions.
